　　Grammar in use

　　初次約會“一般過去時”

　　【句法功能】一般過去時表示過去發生的動作或存在的狀態，其謂語動詞要用過去式;常與它連用的時間狀語有yesterday, last week/month/year，“一段時間+ago”，“in+過去的時間點”等。例如：

　　I bought a book yesterday.

　　昨天我買了一本書。

　　She visited my home last week.

　　上周她拜訪了我家。

　　英語上冊【動詞變化】

　　動詞過去式的規則變化：

　　1.一般情況下，動詞詞尾加- ed，如：play — played; want—wanted; ask—asked

　　2.以不發音的-e結尾動詞，動詞詞尾直接加 -d，如：live—lived; move—moved

　　3.以輔音字母+y結尾的動詞，把y改成i，加-ed，如：study—studied; try—tried

　　4.重讀閉音節動詞，雙寫詞尾輔音字母，再加-ed，如：skip—skipped; stop—stopped

　　不規則動詞變化：

　　不規則動詞的過去式，需要我們牢牢記在心中。下面為同學們列舉一些常見的，它們是：

　　is/am—was; are—were, do - did; have/has—had; go—went; meet—met; come—came; take—took; eat—ate; fly—flew; run—ran

　　還有一些過去式與動詞原形一樣的動詞：let一let, put—put; read—read

　　1. Our club will teach you how to build rockets.

　　【點撥】teach sb how to do sth意為“教某人如何做某事”。例如：

　　Mum teaches me how to make bed.

　　媽媽教我如何整理床鋪。

　　The teacher teaches us how to choose a good article.

　　老師教我們如何來選擇一篇好文章。

　　2. The night before, I was so excited that I could not sleep!

　　【點撥】so…that…意思是“如此……以至……”，so是副詞，常常用來修飾形容詞或副詞。常用的句型為：主語+謂語+ so+ adj./adv. +that從句。例如：

　　The dish is so delicious that I want another bowl.

　　這道菜太好吃了，以至我還想再來一碗。

　　Jimmy runs so fast that I cannot catch him.

　　吉米跑得太快，以至我不能抓住他。

　　3. Finally, it was time to go home.

　　【點撥】it is/was time to do sth意思是“是做某事的時間了”。例如：

　　It is time to go to bed. 該睡覺了。

　　Lucy, it is time to do homework. 露西，該做作業了。
